Recycling in Housing and Residential Facilities

Fall of 1997 brought many changes to the recycling program at Georgia Tech.  For the first time, a comprehensive recycling program was established in 60% of the residential housing areas on campus.  The program was a tremendous success, and in fall '98 we expanded so that recycling opportunities were available to every residential housing student.

Each residence hall apartment, individual suite and traditional room comes equipped with a 40 qt blue container to collect:

  • Aluminum Cans
  • Plastic Bottles 1 & 2
  • Mixed Office Paper
  • Newsprint, and
  • Cardboard.
